Joe is a professional sound designer and audio engineer based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Graduating from the University of California at Santa Cruz in 2017 with a BA in Theatrical Design and Technology, Joe recently completed a technicial certificate program in sound at Yale School of Drama. He is very excited to return to Yale in Fall of 2020 to pursue an MFA in Sound Design. Always enthusiastic to be working with audio, Joe has designed sound effects and composed music for theater, dance, film, and video games. As an audio engineer he specializes in systems design and installation, but holds experience in fields from recording and studio production to live sound engineering, system tuning and loudspeaker repair. In his free time Joe doesn't stray too far from the world of sound; studying music theory, honing his production skills, and practicing with his keyboard, drum pad, and turntables. Aside from making noise, Joe is also experienced with construction, woodworking, welding, and rigging.
Since graduating from UCSC in Spring of 2017 Joe has worked as a sound engineer and stage technician for a variety of companies in the bay area and beyond, including Stanford University, Microsoft Inc., Yale Repertory Theatre, Cherry Lane Studio Theatre in NYC, Live Design International, Theaterworks Silicon Valley, Musson Theatrical, Santa Cruz Shakespeare, The Jewell Theater Company, Tandy Beal & Co., and The Hammer Theater Center in San Jose. After receiving a Technical Certificate in Sound Design from Yale School of Drama in Spring 2020, he will be returning to Yale to pursue a Master of the Fine Arts in Sound Design.
